“Yeah, right!” was my thought from seat 4D on Alaska Airlines today….
Never fly them, but the schedule was right for a short hop home. The post-landing spiel was a tad different, and what jumped out at my ears was the baggage guarantee.
“If your baggage is not at baggage claim within twenty minutes of your plane arriving at the gate, you are entitled to a $20 discount on a future flight of 2,000 Alaska Airlines flight or 2,000 Alaska Airlines bonus miles.”
Hmph…I know a thing or three about airline travel. Baggage claim is always the weak link. Even if the airline is trying really hard, they are hamstrung by the airport infrastructure.
I noticed the unusual announcement. And, unusual for me, I had checked a bag.
So I set my stopwatch.
Quick pit stop on the way to baggage claim….and SHOCKER….when I arrived, the carousel was already crammed with rollerboards, big and small. Mine wasn’t there yet, but one more rotation and it was.
Fabulous.
Almost makes up for the one-hour traffic jam on Interstate 80. Maybe Alaska Airlines could organize the freeway system.
